HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!
Have you ever read the Declaration of Independence? I am embarrassed to say I had only glanced at it and recognize a few pithy phrases from it, but I never focused and invested the time with the document’s fullness. I have corrected that oversight over the past several days, and I encourage others to invest the time in its wisdom and articulate angst.
Below, I have attempted to caress the meaning and intensity of our nation’s declaration to break free of the abusive and despotic governmental policies of King George III in the mid-1770's. Similarly, the autocratic abuses and usurpations by the Trump administration some 250-years later demands a renewed declaration for democracy “deriving its just powers from the consent of the governed.” In this declaration I want to emphasize our commitment not only to our independence but emphasize our collective interdependence to one another as dedicated citizens to the United States of America.
Since January 20, 2025, my fellow Americans have suffered long enough under the blasphemous reign of a wannabe King Donald and his party of treasonous co-conspirators in the GOP. History will record that in less than six months America’s 47th President made his bid to transform America into an autocracy. However, when in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for democracy to dissolve these dictatorial desires by the ruling few in favor of We The People, a Declaration of Interdependence has emerged from this Trumpian travesty. From July 5, 2025 (75/25) onward, the super majority of moderate Americans will struggle to put this reign of personal greed down and reclaim our uniquely American democracy for all.
WE hold these truths to be self-evident, that all human beings are created equal, that they are endowed through their creation with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness within our 250-year-old democracy. Autocratic rule is anathema to the American ethos, and we will not allow it to stand.
Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of our democratic ends, it is the right and responsibility of the people to alter or to abolish it, and renew the government, which has as its foundation the principles and organizing powers to affect our collective safety and happiness.
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that our long-established Constitutional government has served our nation well and should not be changed for light and transient causes. Therefore, when a long train of abuses and usurpations by a despot occur, it is our right, it is our duty, to throw off such a governmental regime to provide new leadership for the security of future generations.
This has been the patient sufferance of our nation’s majority; and such is now the necessity which requires us to alter these authoritarian intentions. The history of this present despot in the American story is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of absolute tyranny over our 50 states. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
President Trump’s noxious and obscene history is decades long and has been flaunted by MAGA as normal behaviors; they are, however, anything but socially or morally acceptable. Indeed, his actions are so extensive and excessive as to stain the reputation of this great nation before the world; a permanent stain that has now become part of our nation’s story of occasional imperfections and missteps. We cannot change what we will not face up to, but the days of reckoning have arrived. A tidal wave of change, through our bonds of interdependence, is forthcoming.
Should any doubts remain as to the character flaws and corrupt practices of this Trumpian era, I offer these few pieces of evidence in an avalanche of documentation on President Trump’s reign of personal and anti-American atrocities.

It must also be recognized and confronted that this era of inhumanity and cruelty was allowed to flourish within this 21st Century Republican Party, and a Federalist Society judicial philosophy. Viruses require a host, and these co-conspirators provided a rich environment.
Therefore, be it resolved, on July 5, 2025, a Declaration of Interdependence is acknowledged and exists. Authoritarianism continues to go against every fiber of our nation’s story as was true on July 4, 1776. We The People of this imperfect union have not always gotten it right, but once our missteps have been confronted, the better angles of our nature will emerge and sustain us and our progeny going forward.
